When you book a photographer, you’re trusting them with moments that can never be recreated.


The photos from your wedding, family session, engagement, or milestone are more than just files on a computer - they are memories, emotions, and moments in time that you’ll want to look back on for years to come.


That’s why my responsibility doesn’t end when I press the shutter.


A professional photography workflow goes beyond capturing beautiful images. It also includes having a reliable backup system in place to protect those images from the moment they’re created.


Step 1: In-Camera Backup During Your Session


The first layer of protection begins while I’m photographing your session.


My camera uses a dual-card recording system, meaning every image is written to two SD cards simultaneously. This creates an immediate duplicate of each file.


While memory card failures are uncommon, technology isn’t perfect. Having a second copy created instantly provides an additional layer of security before the session is even finished.


Step 2: Immediate Backup


Once your session is complete, the next step is protecting those files as quickly as possible.


Before I even begin the editing process, your RAW images are transferred and backed up across multiple storage locations, including:


• SSD (Solid State Drive)

• HDD (Hard Disk Drive)

• Secure cloud storage


Having multiple copies stored in different locations helps reduce the risk of data loss and ensures your images are not dependent on a single device.


Step 3: Protecting Your Images During Editing


Throughout the editing process, your original RAW files remain safely stored.


I work from backed-up files while keeping your original images protected. This allows me to carefully edit your gallery while maintaining the integrity of the original files.


Step 4: Long-Term Archiving


Even after your final gallery has been delivered, I continue to maintain an archived copy of your original RAW files.


I always encourage clients to download and back up their own galleries as well, but I believe in providing an additional layer of protection by keeping my own archive.
