The Born Family at the Chilliwack Wetlands

The Chilliwack Wetlands have a way of making you feel peaceful the moment you step onto the trail. Soft earth tones, wide open fields, and sunlight reflecting off the water create a calm, welcoming setting. It was the perfect location for photographing The Born Family and their sweet dog on a quiet Fraser Valley afternoon.

From the very start, their energy felt natural and connected. Mom and dad walked side by side while the kids ran ahead with their dog, pausing every few minutes to point out something interesting in the grass or water. The session flowed effortlessly. Nothing rushed, nothing forced, just a family enjoying meaningful time together in a space that encourages slowing down.

Their dog brought so much personality and joy to the session. Trotting proudly between everyone, he sometimes sat perfectly for photos and other times stole the spotlight in the funniest ways. These small, spontaneous moments brought life to the session and captured what family photography is all about: real, joyful, and full of authentic movement.

The light at the wetlands shifted softly as we moved along the trail, wrapping the family in a warm, gentle glow. The kids laughed and played, mom and dad shared quiet smiles, and their dog stayed close, as if he understood this was his moment too. Every detail of the scene came together to create images that are honest, warm, and full of life.

Photographing The Born Family felt like documenting a chapter of their everyday life. The love between them was clear in every frame. Calm moments, playful moments, simple moments that say everything. The Chilliwack Wetlands held all of that beautifully, and the photos reflect the heart of who they are: a close family enjoying life exactly as it is, together.
